They are characters in the netwerkin illusion. The alt nics I hate are the ones that people create for underhanded reasons.

Great hack I am going to put this on my board asap.

Any chance of extending it to include New registrations. This would be a really useful way of detecting problem users trying to register under multiple ids, before they even got onto the board! Potentially useful to track banned users as well.

Excellent. Managed to convert the code for use on our current 6.05 board.

Trying to track duped users who were on AOL was a nightmare, this has solved it, thanks

An example is at our board, we state that no duplicate accounts allow, and we will ban on sight. We used to go by the IP address, but that can be unreliable. This fixes that
(unless of course they use another browser)

I just created a Multihack file for this and installed in on our board. If this works as designed it will be one of the simplest, yet most useful tools added to our site. We deal with lots of product testing and product discussions and sometimes we have a real problem with people “asking” a question and then logging in under another name and giving that product an “outstanding review.”

I think it needs to be in the CP so I don't have to link an external file. It does work great by the way. No issues at all.
